We all agree that our nation is at war. We have our troops in the heat of battle, dying for their country. The casualty count is over 30,000 now according to Antiwar.com.
Being a nation at war, you would expect that our Federal Government would be on what used to be called a “war footing” where all the top brass and their top staffers, from the President on down to the mess hall workers, are working at top efficiency to actually win this war in the shortest amount of time possible. So that the men and women who are making the largest sacrifices for our Nation can come back to be with their wives and husbands, their sons and daughters, so that our fighting men and women can come home.
But looking at the ACTIONS of our government officials since the war began, looking BEFORE the war began, looking as far back as 9/11, neither former President Bush or President Obama have acted as if we are a nation at war. Neither has the House or the Senate. And if the quote on quote leadership isn’t in war mode, we know that the agencies and people that serve under them are not on a war footing either.
After 9/11, our federal government immediately passed the Patriot Act which tramples on almost every Amendment in the Bill of Rights in a whole of different ways. They created the TSA and the DHS regardless of the fact that these jobs were already being done by other agencies. And the FBI and CIA and the other alphabet of government agencies looked busy for awhile.
And most of these bills, weren’t even completely written at the time they were voted on. If there was a final draft of the bill before it was voted upon, it wasn’t delivered in time to be read BEFORE the vote.
HR 3162 became Public Law 107-56 on 26 OCT 01 here’s what Ron Paul had to say about it.
Did you hear what Dr. Paul said there? The part about when it’s a really important bill, the standard operating procedure is to vote without reading it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t even sign a credit card receipt without reading it. Would you ever sign a contract without reading it first? If your one of the smart people out there then your answer is a resounding no. But in Washington, our “representatives” are signing contracts that bind ALL OF US without READING the BILL!!!
But Rick, it was a stressful situation, something had to be done and done quickly. It was an issue of national security. Oh Really? Fast forward to this last summer. Let’s listen to what John Conyers a long time GA congressman had to say about something as important as reading the bill before voting for it to become law
During this whole fiasco you would think that between 11 SEP and 26 OCT a full month and half, there was wide outcry for a full investigation of the horrible acts of 9/11. The most heinous act of terror ever committed on US soil. One would think that our leaders would have called for the immediate investigation of that horrific, heart wrenching day in our nation’s history.
After all, the Warren Commission that investigated the Assassination of JFK was ordered on 29 NOV 63 one week after the President was murdered. After Pearl Harbor the Roberts Commission was enacted by Executive Order on 18 DEC 41 Just 11 days after the attack.
The 9/11 Commission wasn’t formed by executive order. It was enacted by Congressional Order as Title IV of what became Public Law 107-306 an appropriations bill. One of a bunch that year as I recall. The date? 27 NOV 02. It took them OVER A YEAR! And there was all kinds of hu hu about it. They didn’t have enough money and had to fight to get some more. There were issues over who was going to be on the Commission and a whole lot of other stuff that I’m going to go over in detail on another Show.
So then we go to war, we invade Afghanistan and Iraq. We rolled into Afganistan on 7 OCT 2001 not even a month after 9/11 and without doing a full investigation.
Fast forward to this year. President Obama took office on Jan 20th and what has he done? Well, in August he issued orders that we were not fighting a war on terrorism any longer.
Then of course we had the whole thing with the Commanding General in Iraq. He had spoken with the President one time and one time only in over three months time.
And how long did it take the President to respond to the Generals request for troops in Afghanistan? Six months? President Bush had dilly dallied even longer than that during his Administration.
Then of course there was the story telling us that the President has yet to appoint a chief for the TSA or the Customs Dept. Arguably the two most important agencies needed to protect our country or so they tell us?
It wasn’t until after the Christmas “bombing attempt” that we put those countries that are known to sponsor terrorism on the extra security precautions list.
Speaking of the Christmas “bombing attempt”, why is it that we heard the same exact things after Christmas that we heard after 9/11? Didn’t they tell us that the government was going to fix that? Isn’t that exactly what the TSA and DHS were supposed to prevent? Yet all we heard was the same old song and dance from our government and absolutely no one was held accountable.
For almost a decade now, our brave men and women have been fighting and dying in a war that our government is not geared up for. Our government has been steadily taking away our freedom and liberty and taking over more and more of what used to be private industries and telling us it’s for our security.
The government has, for all practical purposes suspended the Bill of Rights and told us that it is the only way for them to protect us. But the courts have ruled over and over again that the government has no duty or liability to do so.
How much longer are we going to let them get away with this?
Wow, what a day. Both hours just flew by, which is my signal that it was a good show. Obviously some shows are better than others. Some hours it takes everything I have to get through. But not today.
In the first hour we talked with Rev/Drs Aaron and Margaret Jamal about the nasty business of eugenics. This was actually a topic of discussion that started on their show which I highly recommend.
Coming to a government near you... This is just frightening. It's an Orwellian nightmare come to real life. The government will tell us that it's so that they can 'protect' us. If you believe that then I have a bridge to sell you. I keep it in Brooklyn.
New York is going after Intel. Now I read a good portion of this press release on the air, and I can't find anything that Intel is doing that is harming AMD through force or fraud. I have absolutely zero evidence, but I'm wondering whether there is an exec with AMD that has ties with the AG's office. It seems that they are trying to use the force and violence of government to increase AMD's market share. Please let me know if you see any real crimes. I sure haven't. Our unemployment rate is higher than Europe. This isn't a good thing.
What a day it has been! Big thanks to John Bush for spending the hour with us. If all works well, we'll have John back after the Continental Congress 2009 event to get an update on how things worked out. Texans for Accountable Government is doing some outstanding work for freedom.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is ill. He has been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. Kareem was one of my childhood hero's.
The Justice Department is doing things it shouldn't be doing again! And they tried to cover it up. Just down right despicable. No one will be held accountable for it though. Which sucks big rocks. How is it that you and I will pay huge fines and possibly go to jail for doing things that we know are against the law, yet you never see a government agent being held accountable for their actions. Why is that?
You only thought you knew how much the GovernmentCare bill will cost the nation. If they don't have all the costs added up or even have the bill completely written, how can they vote on it? I still want Pelosi, Reid or Obama to tell us where they get the authority to take over healthcare. I'm not holding my breath though.
Anita Dunn is done!! She is stepping down as White House Communications Director. I wonder if her replacement holds Mao in as much esteem as she did.
I hope you enjoyed the show today. I certainly did. Can't wait for tomorrow!!
GovernmentCare passes the House. If we're lucky (but I doubt it.) this won't get through the Senate. They say it won't but you can't believe a word a politician says. They'll come to a last minute, behind the scenes agreement and claim what a great thing has been accomplished and how the American people are the real winners...yada, yada, yada. BULL SQUEEZE all of it. Wake up America!! Government is not our friend. This bill is another one of several death blows to individual freedom and liberty in America.
In 99% of police brutality cases, including many that have video evidence of law enforcement officers committing violence on people who are absolutely no threat to them, the investigators tell us that the officers involved didn’t commit a crime, they followed department procedure etc. etc. blah blah blah.
So can’t we assume then that it is dept policy and procedure for cops to use violence on people who are no physical threat to them? If it happens time and time again all across the country can’t we deduce that it’s not an unusual occurrence? Isn’t this a NEGATIVE? How is it that the majority of Americans, at least the ones who comment on news articles anyway, have the mindset that anyone who is injured by the police had it coming?
One of the biggest reasons the police give us that they are so high strung and ready to use violence at the drop of hat is because they have such a dangerous job and the name of the game is for the officer to go home that night.
Okay, I can buy this to a point. They do have a somewhat dangerous job when they aren’t out generating revenue for the State. But I thought the name of the game was protecting the public. Isn’t that the purpose of creating police departments? I’ve watched COPS before, isn’t that the reason that damn near every cop gives on why they want to be a police officer?
But even then, law enforcement doesn’t even make the top 10 list of dangerous professions. At least not in this decade.
And even if this were the case, does that give law enforcement the right to use violence on people who are no threat to them? Absolutely not!
Dozens of kids jailed for a most heinous act. "Oh, it was horrible officer I got hit with a dessert item." Did this really warrant arrest? In my day they used to make us clean it up. Not imprison us for it. Dirtbags!!
Flavored cigarettes are a no no! We can't have a product that people actually want. Oh, no. Cause they have to protect the children. How many times are they going to use that excuse? When are the American people going to stand up and say I'll protect my own child thank you. Keep your damn laws. It's their job to protect our freedom not our bodies. How are they doing on that you think?
44% of politicians are millionaires? There is no way, no way that they can feel our pain. It's no wonder they don't represent the people. Now that they've made their millions, they do all things necessary to PREVENT other people from doing it too. That makes sense.
Like that will keep me from working though. Right now I am concentrating on the website as I mentioned on the air. I am seriously visual arts challenged though. If you happen to have any ideas for me concerning the website I would be more than happy to consider it. Either leave a comment here or email me at rick@freedomandlibertyshow.net. Three cheers for this heroic officer. I don't know that she isn't just as bad as most cops during her normal shift, but she took out the scumbag who killed 13 people in cold blood. And took a bullet herself. Excellent job Sergeant! Thank You!
I want people to be free to live by their own tenets. To succeed or fail by their own decisions. That is the principle that this nation was founded upon. For the first time in the history of man, a country a government was formed that put the principles of freedom and liberty for the individual first. And look what the result was. A nation that became the smartest, most prosperous and most powerful land on the planet. Now we are dismantling those premises piece by piece. Government is expanding at almost exponential rates and it is weakening our dollar, weakening our economy and enslaving its people. Unless we take action
Wake up America! The government is not our friend! It’s a really simple equation, more government = less freedom. How much of our lives and our money do we spend satisfying government whims? Hell just complying with the income tax alone costs companies billions of dollars alone. Just consider all the billions of dollars on payroll and office supplies just to figure out what the tax is much less the billions of dollars paid in the taxes themselves. Talk about a waste! What would our economy look like if all those billions of dollars were put into expansion of private sector companies? Where would our unemployment rate be then? Cut by a third? Maybe half? That’s just the income tax. What about all the other taxes you pay? What if, and wow I know I’m being a little bit crazy here, but just go with me for a minute, what if the federal government just ran the programs that the Constitution demands, and all the rest of that money stayed in the private sector where it belongs, what would the state of our economy be today? If everyone were free to live their dream and not worry about the government coming in and confiscating a big portion of their revenue. How much more money would you be making? What would that do for your standard of living, hell everyone’s standard of living for that matter? But that’s not the life that the Demicans and Republicrats have in store for any of us. The are trying to take more power. And not only are we letting them. Hell, a much to large a portion of Americans are cheering them on.
Welcome to the new blog. I can't tell you how excited I am about the new website, I really hope you enjoy it. So let's get the show notes rolling shall we.
Unemployment above 10% Yeah, right. Try over 17% when you actually count all the people who are unemployed, not excluding the data that makes the government look bad. It's gonna get worse people.
Demicans are scrambling to pass HR 3962 on Saturday. BOHICA! They aren't even going to wait until all the agencies actually score the bill. Rick Foster, who is the chief actuary for the Centers from Medicaid and Medicare Service said this: "We're currently working on estimates and analysis for H.R. 3962. We're
trying to have it ready before the House vote, but I don't know if
we'll succeed. There are a number of new or modified provisions in the
bill, compared to its predecessor H.R. 3200, and the legislative
language has only been publicly available for a short time."
It's not like actually being accurate with the numbers is important or anything.
This just pisses me off. This woman was not harming anyone through force or fraud. Yet the government saw fit to harass her. What dirtbags.
Whistling in the dark? Of course it had nothing to do with them. Sure. Yeah right? I hope that in private at least, that the President is taking a hard look at this. I doubt it, but one can hope.
Well, folks. That's it for now. Remember to tune in for the 4:00 show. Talk with you later.
